Many of you have asked if it is possible to come out and volunteer on the weekends to help build our 78 homes for Veterans. We are opening the calendar this Saturday to make that possible. Come out and have fun! We will be painting the interior of the homes! It will be a great day for all.

Silver screen star and Newhall icon William S. Hart built this theater at the corner of Spruce and Eleventh Streets in 1941; construction started in December 1940, six years before Hart's death. The structure was used as a theater until 1965 and still stands as the home of American Legion Post 507, which was chartered on December 5, 1934.

The United States Congress has designated March 25th of each year as NATIONAL MEDAL OF HONOR DAY, a day dedicated to Medal of Honor recipients. (Public Law 101-564) Conceived in the State of Washington, this holiday should be one of our most revered. Unfortunately all too many Americans are not even aware of its existence.
WHY MARCH 25th?
The date of March 25th was chosen to highlight this special day because it was on March 25 (1863) that the first Medals of Honor were presented...to six members of Andrews' Raiders.
